Use the installer for your chosen overhaul
For Real TCG Overhaul, use its own package manager and its preconfigured BepInEx setup with the required loader and texture components. The separate Pokémon mod attributed to drawshan follows a different dependency chain, so choose your route before installing files.
Match the dependencies to the exact mod
Real TCG Overhaul uses its own package manager for a broader set of Pokémon card and shop replacements. Its guide lists a preconfigured BepInEx and Configuration Manager setup, Phone Overhaul, Enhanced Prefab Loader, EPL API, and required holographic and texture components. Use the components specified for that overhaul rather than substituting an ordinary BepInEx package.
The separate route attributed to drawshan additionally uses TextureReplacer, More Card Expansions, Add Entirely New Cards, and a specific patch. Follow that route's documented dependency order and check its expected expansion entries through the configuration interface. These are third-party mods rather than officially licensed Pokémon content included in the base game.
Install Real TCG Overhaul through its manager
- Make a separate save backup before installing or changing overhaul components, giving yourself a copy to preserve if added-card content causes problems.
- Obtain Real TCG Overhaul's own installer and required content archives so you are following the package-manager route for that specific overhaul.
- Point the manager to the game's executable directory so it targets the game installation you intend to modify.
- Add the downloaded ZIP archives in the manager's Downloaded Mods area, keeping them as archives rather than manually extracting their contents.
- Let the manager assign installation locations, using the overhaul's preconfigured BepInEx package rather than replacing it with an ordinary package.
- Check the manager's status panel for duplicate installations so you can identify that documented installation problem.
- Inspect the artwork and cards in game to check the result before committing more play time to the modified setup.
Verify the route before chasing a texture fix
Check the exact mod you installed against the instructions you followed. For Real TCG Overhaul, use the manager's installation status; for the drawshan route, check the expected expansion entries through the configuration interface. Keep those checks tied to the selected route rather than treating every Pokémon-themed download as interchangeable.
Compare the mod files' stated compatibility with the game build you have installed. For a 1.0-era build, the relevant check is whether the selected mod files, required loader, and texture components are compatible with that build. Use that compatibility check when deciding whether an older set of files belongs in your installation.
Check missing artwork from the mod package outward
- Confirm the selected overhaul: identify whether you are using Real TCG Overhaul or the separate drawshan route, then compare your files with that route's dependency list.
- Check the required loader and texture components: for Real TCG Overhaul, retain its preconfigured setup and use its manager rather than manually extracting the content archives.
- Check expansion settings on the drawshan route: inspect the configuration interface for the expected entries and confirm that the required expansions are enabled.
- Check for conflicting card-changing mods on the drawshan route, which the community guide warns can conflict with other mods that alter cards.
- Check compatibility after a game-version change by comparing the installed game build with the selected overhaul files and their required components.
Protect binder entries when changing added-card content
Keep a separate save backup before changing an overhaul installation you already use. The community guide warns that removing added-card content from an existing modded save can damage binder entries. Avoid using removal of those components as an experimental texture fix on the only copy of a save you want to keep.
Work through the package, dependencies, expansion settings, conflicts, and compatibility checks before changing several parts of the setup together. Make a note of each adjustment so you can tell which check led you to it. This keeps troubleshooting manageable while you preserve the save backup.
